13 Nights of Halloween – Mighty Morton Silent Feature: The Phantom of The Opera
Step into history as the Jefferson Theatre’s 1927 Robert Morton Organ plays again — fully restored thanks to the Mamie McFaddin Ward Heritage Foundation and the expert work of Tom Helms.
We are delighted to share that this rare and historic instrument, dramatically damaged by Hurricane Rita in 2005, has been restored to its original glory after more than 15 years of silence. Following two major restorations, the organ is once again ready to be played, heard, and celebrated.
We extend an invitation to organists, guilds, and music organizations across the country to visit Beaumont, experience the Morton firsthand. Whether you’re interested in a private visit, group tour, or performance opportunity, we would be honored to host you and share this remarkable piece of musical history.
As part of this celebration, the City of Beaumont presents a special screening of the 1925 silent film The Phantom of the Opera, featuring a live organ score performed by Tom Helms on the restored Morton Organ.
